Van Nuys, Calif. (PRWEB) June 16, 2008 -- Digital Playground (www.digitalplayground.com) has started filming with RED digital cameras, a new camera more brilliant than 35 mm film, with 4 times the resolution of the best HD cameras, and the best cinematic look available. Digital Playground was recently in the news for its commitment to simultaneous release new movies on DVD and Blu-ray™ and to re-release its entire library on Blu-ray. Now Digital Playground is allowing a new color to make headlines--the color RED. In the past two months, Digital Playground has already used the RED One cameras to shoot 10 movies. The addition of RED digital cameras allows Digital Playground to match the quality productions of mainstream entertainment studios, while remaining the world-wide leader in adult entertainment.

Samsung Instinct Gives iPhone a Run for Its Money

Samsung Instinct

Samsung instinct...

To call the Samsung Instinct an iPhone knockoff would be an understatement of grotesque proportions. Seriously: Even the packaging looks like it came straight outta Cupertino.

With its buttonless face and black monolithic look, the all-touchscreen Instinct is immediately familiar: It's virtually the same weight and size as the iPhone, only about two-tenths of an inch narrower. Most of the expected specs for any 2008 handset are here: 3G, GPS, 2-megapixel camera (with video recording), and full e-mail and web browsing features. But the Instinct doesn't stop there; it tries to stake a claim on new ground by adding features its arch rival (even the upcoming version) skips: Haptic feedback buzzes below your fingertip when you work the touchscreen, and voice control lets you do certain tasks sans typing.

I am still debating on replacing my fancy PDA-phone with the instinct, but $130.00 cannot be beat... ( I see they waited till apple announced the pricing of the $199.99 iphone :-)

U.S. Gas prices climb to record $4

NEW YORK (Reuters) - A gallon of gasoline is costing U.S. drivers a record $4 on average at the gas pump, and prices are likely to keep rising if soaring crude oil prices do not retreat from record highs, according to an industry analyst on Sunday.

They have Stockton, CA pegged as the highest price per gallon in the survey...

Beach Hut

Well I had Beach Hut (http://www.beachhutdeli.com ) for the second time this week..  (I had some friend visiting from Texas and London and gave them the good ole Stockton tour on Monday) I wanted to make sure they say the improvements in downtown and explain how much better downtown is than 10 years ago when I was younger living in Stockton. Today the director Admission wanted to get away from the office for a pow-wow and to chat about random politics including local, national and Pacific (UOP) politics.

Anyways, as for  Beach Hut... Man they really need to speed up the service sometimes as it took 30+ minutes to get my favorite medium Santa Cruz sandwich during the lunch hour... They are good and all, but man, if its going to take that long let me know... Luckily they got be hooked as they are pretty tasty and willing to wait, but no so sure about co-worker as they are much more time sensitive than I...

Interesting....

I was posed with the question, so what do you think about the election. My instance reaction would have been, "not as I expected.." but since I know opening your mouth too much gets me some interesting press, so I just said "interesting..."

But for an actual thought on the subject matter, here's my 2 cents:

For the Mayoral race, it was expected that Ann Johnston and Clem Lee would be the front runners. I am impress how much Steve was able to pulling that many votes and always amaze me that Ralph White can get as many votes as he does. I am curious on what Clem is going to do based on the results. It seems like a good enough margins that he need to kick it up a notch.

In District 4, Chris Ely edged out Diana Lowery by a hundred or so votes. Oddly enough they are going to do it all over again in November.  I am curious on how each will adjust their campaign strategy in lieu of how the result went.

I am still mulling over whether or it true in this election that the one that sticks his/her head out first are the one that gets shot at in terms of press and cynics..

DON'T FORGET TO VOTE!

Hey Stocktonians... Be sure to vote for the best  mayoral candidate and city council member in tomorrow's (Tuesday) election..

It will be interesting then as the real fun campaigning will start.

Newspapers Still Have Much to Learn About the Web

Anyone reading this is already well aware newspapers are making the (slow) transition to digital, and just like the preferred format of music has moved from CD to mp3, newspapers will eventually move from print to entirely web-based/RSS operations. It’s just so much better and more efficient way of receiving information. Print is still hanging around but it won’t last.

Unfortunately newspaper Web sites, on the whole, are still playing by the old rules of the Web and are not nearly as nice as professional blogs to read and follow. A few things I’ve noticed from this perspective that are especially frustrating:
