When web sites first started coming around
the most popular thing found were "about me" and a page of favorite links. (Yes I have had both. Look at
this page circa 1999.)
The biggest problem, which still exist today, is this static posting of information becomes
quickly outdated as new events happen in one's life, career, etc.
So unless you are like me, constantly updating web pages, your audience will eventually think you have been up to nothing, since .. lets say September 2004.
So instead of me posting an "about me" section, I will simple point you
to 3 resources that I frequently trying to keep up to date.
- My blog What is a blog? This simple blend
of content rich personal discussion board is probably one the
greatest means of exponential grow of random text content on the
web (Well except of the publishing of all the books in the
library of congress I suspect). If you read back enough you can
probably put together my life story.
(Please also note that my ex-girlfriend is also an avid poster,
so note who posted the blog when reading...)
- My resume or
Curriculum Vitae (CV). Not as current as my blog, but this is a
nice list of professional accomplishment.
- My Portfolio. When you just want to look at pretty pictures, web sites, HTML/ASP/PHP code.
As for more my fun/volunteering endeavors, the short list is includes:
I am avid tinkerer of toys and mechanical and electrical devices, including cars and computers and working on the restoration of an Victorian home in which I currently reside in. I was even mentioned in a book called
Cruising L.A.: Architectural Styles in 5 Easy Drives that came
out in May 2006 and has a short blurb on my work there.
